All Out War 2 (Kaiju 038)

June 20, 2009

Philadelphia, PA

It had been almost one year exactly since Kaiju Big Battel last invaded the Trocadero. In that time, Neo Teppen had recaptured the Kaiju Championship, the Furious Furries snatched the Double Danger Tandem Titles, and most importantly, the Kaiju Commissioner was murdered! But in many ways, nothing has changed at all, because when Kaiju comes to Philly, Danger Happens, and it happens in a big way!

Dusto Bunny vs Tucor
The opening contest was supposed to be a one-on-one contest between Dusto Bunny and Tucor. Dusto wanted to exact a measure of revenge against Tucor for injuring his friend, Jeremiah the Pink Teddy Bear. Instead, Tucor brought help; his Double Danger Tandem Title teammate The Grudyin! Needing a partner, Dusto got on the phone and called in the one possible partner no one was expecting… Jeremiah!

Yokosuka Jump Squadron vs Furious Furries
Jeremiah and Dusto cleaned house, and the Yokosuka Jump Squadron found out the key to victory: make sure Super Wrong is nowhere to be seen. With the power of teamwork, and without the negative influence of the Jump Squad leader, the fluffy faction finally put away the Furious Furries and won the Double Danger Tandem Titles!

RoBox Double Danger Robo Lottery
The next Fighto paired four random participants together into two Tandem teams, but you can’t have random participants without Kaiju’s resident randomizer, RoBox! The first team in the RoBox Double Danger Robo Lottery featured Dr. Cube’s deranged minion Craw and one third of the Iron Bros, Brother Mace. Their opponents; the unorthodox combo of Dino Kang Jr. and the undefeated Steam Powered Tentacle Boulder!

Either Craw took Dino Kang Jr. too lightly, or Craw just isn’t a particularly good fighter. But DKJ embarrassed the minion with a flurry of claws, kicks and bites, and Iron Brother Mace called in his two brothers. After a thorough beatdown of Craw by both teams, Boulder and DKJ fought valiantly and overcame a 3-on-2 disadvantage to defeat the Iron Bros., which means Boulder is still undefeated, and also makes two straight victories for Dino Kang Jr!

Metal Wing Black vs Giii the Space Pirate
The third Fighto of the night saw the debut of Kaiju’s newest Hero. The Hero Intern ’08 walked into the HEROMATIC an Intern, but walked out as Metal Wing Black, a powerful, flashy new Hero with even more heavy metal firepower. His opponent on this evening, Giii the Space Pirate, tried to take advantage of the HEROMATIC’s long transformation time and smash some cities, but Metal Wing Black emerged right on time.

Metal Wing Black survived a devastating Pirate Plex from Giii, and eventually turned the tables and won by soaring through the air with his diving headbutt finisher. But after the match, Giii’s partner Sekmet made his presence felt and laid waste to Metal Wing, Louden, the Salbinos, and even Sun Buster, who almost stopped Sekmet’s rampage until a desperation move by Giii doused any attempt of a happy ending for the Heroes.

Dr. Cube vs American Beetle
If Philadelphia was hoping to escape the night without an appearance by Dr. Cube, well, they were going to be disappointed. After dousing a box of free t-shirts with a bucket of acid, Cube claimed inevitable victory in the race for the Commissioner’s seat. However, his speech was soon interrupted by American Beetle, who came out and presented his own application for the Commissioner position!

Dr. Cube vs Powa Ranjuru
Cube was enraged, and, with the help of his minions, overpowered Beetle and destroyed his application. But all hope was not lost, for at that moment, Powa Ranjuru came out and managed to send Cube and his minions packing! While Cube remains just one vote shy of the Commissioner’s position, on this night at least, the Heroes stood strong!

Neo Teppen vs D.W. Cycloptopuss III
But the evening was not over by a longshot. No, we still had a Main Event Fighto on our hands, and it was Treasure vs Title, too! After finding the Golden Treasure, D.W. Cycloptopuss III demanded a title shot against the Neo Teppen. Not only was the Kaiju Championship at stake, but the whole future of the Kaiju Heroes stood in the balance as well!

Vegas oddsmakers had Teppen as a significant favorite against the not-quite-main-event-level Cycloptopuss, but the clam-scented Sea Amigo member came ready to fight and gave Teppen a legitimate run for his money. With added interference from Unibouzu, the future began to look bleak for the Kaiju Heroes, as Cycloptopuss had the upset of the century in his tentacled grasp.

But Neo Teppen is the Champion for a reason; when the chips are down and the outcome looks bleak, Teppen rises to the challenge. Cycloptopuss put up a hell of a fight, but Teppen overcame the odds and picked up the win, retaining the belt and capturing the Golden Treasure! But did Teppen save the Kaiju Heroes? Only time will tell!
